BIOM 206: Introduction to Multivariate Analysis using R

This course is designed to introduce the participants to some of the statistical tools used in the analysis of multivariate data. A brief description of each technique will be presented. The course is intended for researchers in the Agricultural, Biological and Social Sciences. It employs a combination of lecture, demonstration of sample problems and hands-on exercises using R.

Course Objectives

  • Introduce the most commonly used multivariate analysis techniques.

Course Content

  • Multiple Regression
  • Cluster Analysis
  • Principal Component Analysis
  • Discriminant Analysis

Prerequisites:

  • BIOM 203: R Programming or equivalent and 
  • Either BIOM 201: Basic Experimental Design and Data Analysis using STAR or BIOM 204: Statistical Design and Analysis of Agricultural Experiments using R  or equivalent
